Get out of my sun, I said to you

I will be a lighter shade of kindness,

because of this.

I feel that I can grow and I can run.

Give me time, give me sun,

and water me just like a tree.

Story’s told. 

I come in peace now, I confess,

I am not the proudest flag to fly in skies

around your house.

This is killing me, can’t you see.

I love to fight, but this flag’s white.

I would love to save what we can.

Cut me down to the fullest,

I never knew it but I was the one,

I was the one in charge.

Still, I played my cards,

and I lost both hands in a battle left no scars

on the surface of my skin. 

But inside oh, inside in, take a look at yourself.
